What we do

We are a family oriented general dental office.  Preventive care, cleanings, fillings, both silver and the color of the tooth, crowns or caps, bridges, dentures, both partial and full, and restorations on implants are all part of what we do on a daily basis.  Dr Alder has also loved working with children since he was in dental school.  There really is something about that phrase:  Kids say the darnedest things.
We also work with a group of specialists that deal with root canals, extractions and the placement of implants, and gum disease.  However, since we do Invisalign here, many times misaligned teeth can be addressed within our office.  For those cases too complex or for patients who are too young, we work with many orthodontists, so there is no problem finding the perfect match.

The initial appointment

When calling for your first appointment, plan to spend a little extra time.  We want to get to know you, find out your concerns, and do a thorough evaluation.  Your cleaning can be done on the same day, and if it has been a while, or you have more complex needs, we will tell you right away if we feel more time or more appointments are needed.  We try to adapt the time needed to each patient.  When you are done, we hope you will feel like we listened to you, addressed your questions, and made you feel like you weren't pushed in one end and spit out the other.
It's not unusual to get home and wonder:  What did they say again?  We are always ready to take your calls, and if Frances can't answer them right then, we will get back to you quickly with an answer.

Insurance and Financing

Dr Alder accepts many types of insurance.  Please feel free to ask Frances if your insurance is accepted in our office.  As there are many types of plans within any particular insurance carrier, she can check to see if your plan is one of those we accept.  This helps to avoid surprises for all of us.

Dental treatment, like medical treatment, can be very expensive. We will make every effort to work with you to coordinate what needs to be done, and prioritize treatment.  There are times where it isn't possible to stay within the limits of your annual maximum due to the extensive amount of work that needs to be done right away.  We have multiple payment options, including a discount for payment before treatment starts if paid in full, accept VISA, Mastercard, and Discover, and individual payment plans.  We want everyone to be comfortable with their arrangements.
